Vault 49 portfolio box: fully designed to specs provided by the agency. Cream on the outside with deep red padded leather inside + designs folded neatly inside. John Glasgow of Vault 49 said that it didn't necessarily secure a meeting but it did help to keep the agency in the minds of all that came in contact with it. He said the goal of the portfolio was 'to make a professional but prominent impact in every meeting.' I'm sure a portfolio of this calibre would definitely turn heads!
Illustrator Dan Mumford's box of real objects:
Rather than have a typical printed portfolio Dan Mumford elected to carefully organise examples of his own work within his box portfolio to amazing effect: CD's, 7-inch singles, T-Shirts, folded flyers and posters are all positioned very carefully and very exactly .
The moral of the story? It would seem being brave and bold in your attempt to make an impact could pay enormous dividends...
